The other day I was looking through a book and inside was a card that I had received from
A girl I had dated some 10 years ago.
When I had originally received the card I missed a great deal of what was in there.
The card was pretty sexy, The kind of writing you might find in Penthouse letters or a romantic novel. The other message in the card was very tender and loving (I kind of missed that one)
The closing statement was I Hope this card brightens your day - Sorry if I got carried away I am sure when the card was sent it's intent was to brighten my day when I received it.
It did at that time but it did so even more the other day.
When I first met this girl I was coming out of a relationship that had gone on for about four years.
We spent a week together at a music camp. During that week I became aware of how unhappy I had been and got a glimpse into what true happiness could be. I held that feeling with me after the week was over. Nonetheless after carrying on a long distance relationship for a little over a year I wound up getting back with my ex-girlfriend.
I guess I was afraid of loosing what we had so I took control by ending it myself. Pretty stupid but at the time it made sense.
It is a decision that I have regretted many times in my life.
I am sure that I am not alone in making bad decisions when it comes to relationships.

Thanks for the comment and advice I did try to look her up years back I became a teacher at the music school and checked to see if she ever registered and later did an internet search for her but never found her.

Many of us have did what you did with regret. Have you ever thought about just looking her up? Do you believe in Serendipity? I walked in those shoes and I went back to find the one that almost got away, I have to say that I am married to him and thankful that I did.
